Decided to get some highlights for the season. My hair apparently has a red base which is why most of the hair color I chose winds up in the reddish orange family (this was supposed to be blonde). But that's kool... just another facet to my unique genetic make-up!
I am also in the middle of a self retightening and have gotten faster. The front (to the ear) was completed in less than 3 hours. For me, that's great! In the past it has taken about 2 days just to do the front.

Til next time beauties!

I too am I Sisterlocked chick trying to find a way to DIY retightening but I can't seem to find any videos or outlets online to explain. I bought a NappyTool but I can't find anything online about DIY retightening, suggestions?
Nacole
Thanks ladies!
@ Chasity - my sister did the color for me.
@ Nacole - fellow blogger Kalia-Dewdrop has a great tutorial on using the Nappylocs tool. See it here: http://kalia-dewdrop.blogspot.com/2009/03/video-tightening-your-locks.html. She's a real DIY queen!
The highlights take your locks over the top it looks great!!! Definitely a new idea for me. Is your sis a licensed beautician?
Gigglz - my sister isn't licensed yet, she's still in cosmetology school. But she's always been my "kitchen beautician!"
Hi,
How didu do the highlights? Is it just a colour or did u have to add some basic white to it?
Sue
@Suzette: I only colored certain locks to give it a highlighted effect. In fact, my sister later told me that just lightened them... no other color was actually "deposited". That's probably more technical than anything...
